Shadowed Summer by Saundra Mitchell

Iris is ready for another hot, routine summer in her small Louisiana town, hanging around the Red Stripe grocery with her best friend, Collette, and traipsing through the cemetery telling each other spooky stories and pretending to cast spells. Except this summer, Iris doesn’t have to make up a story. This summer, one falls right in her lap.

Years ago, before Iris was born, a local boy named Elijah Landry disappeared. All that remained of him were whispers and hushed gossip in the church pews. Until this summer. A ghost begins to haunt Iris, and she’s certain it’s the ghost of Elijah. What really happened to him? And why, of all people, has he chosen Iris to come back to?

NANNY FOR 10-YR-OLD TWINS. MAINE COAST. OWN ROOM & GENEROUS SALARY. MUST LOVE BLACK. "Must love black?" Sounds like a coffee-loving, seclusion-seeking goth girl's dream job. Philippa isn't fazed by the fog-enshrouded mansion on a cliff, the weirdest twins on the planet, or even the rumors about ghosts, "cause when she meets the estate's hot gardener, Philippa's pretty sure she's found her dream boy, too. Too bad Geoff's already taken by a girl whose wardrobe is head-to-toe pink. Still, Philippa can't get Geoff out of her head. What will it take to lure him to the dark side?

Someone was looking at me, a disturbing sensation if you’re dead. Though I could not feel paper between my fingers, smell ink, or taste the tip of a pencil, I could see and hear the world with all the clarity of the Living. They, on the other hand, did not see me as a shadow or a floating vapor. To the Quick, I was empty air.

Or so I thought.

In the class of the high school English teacher she has been haunting, Helen feels them: For the first time in 130 years, human eyes are looking at her. They belong to a boy, a boy who has not seemed remarkable until now. And Helen–terrified, but intrigued–is drawn to him. The fact that he is in a body and she is not presents this unlikely couple with their first challenge. But as the lovers struggle to find a way to be together, they begin to discover the secrets of their former lives and of the young people they come to possess.
Project 17 by Laurie Faria Stolarz
High atop Hathorne Hill, near Boston, sits Danvers State Hospital. Built in 1878 and closed in 1992, this abandoned mental institution is rumored to be the birthplace of the lobotomy. Locals have long believed the place to be haunted. They tell stories about the unmarked graves in the back, of the cold spots felt throughout the underground tunnels, and of the treasures found inside: patients' personal items like journals, hair combs, and bars of soap, or even their old medical records, left behind by the state for trespassers to view.

On the eve of the hospital's demolition, six teens break in to spend the night and film a movie about their adventures. For Derik, it's an opportunity to win a filmmaking contest and save himself from a future of flipping burgers at his parents' diner. For the others, it's a chance to be on TV, or a night with no parents. But what starts as a playful dare quickly escalates into a frenzy of nightmarish action. Behind the crumbling walls, down every dark passageway, and in each deserted room, they will unravel the mysteries of those who once lived there and the spirits who still might.

Ghostgirl by Tonya Hurley

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
And if I should die before I awake,
I pray the popular attend my wake.

Charlotte Usher feels practically invisible at school, and then one day she really is invisible. Even worse: she's dead. And all because she choked on a gummy bear. But being dead doesn't stop Charlotte from wanting to be popular; it just makes her more creative about achieving her goal.

If you thought high school was a matter of life or death, wait till you see just how true that is.In this satirical, yet heartfelt novel, Hurley explores the invisibility we all feel at some times and the lengths we'll go to be seen.

I always thought my great-grandma's house was hautned. It was an old house and falling apart by the time I got to know her. I know all the kids in the small town she lived thought she was a witch and lived in a haunted house-(she was pretty mean and her was that creepy looking!) She wasn't a witch, as far as I know, but there was something or someone in her house. She always told us about the people she'd seen. My grandparents thought she was just being old and crazy, but I always wondered if she was really telling the truth and ghosts were living there with her.

OMG! It gets even better!! You inspired me to review some 'halloween" theme books today over on my blog .

Would you believe I have an acute phobia of those eyes that grow out of potatoes as they get older? Well, one time a friends of mine put a bunch of those on my bed and I had nightmares for weeks!

The scariest movies I ever saw was Wes Craven's They - DO NOT WATCH!!!

The first Stephen King book I ever read was "The Shining". I was young, newly married, and my hubby was working the night shift. I never slept well when he was away, so I was reading to pass the time. It was late and the wind was blowing. I was reading the part about the topiary bushes chasing the little boy thru the maze when the tree branches scraped the bedroom window. I just about came out of my skin . . .

First off I'd like to say this is another great contest--who doesn't like ghost stories...well I do if I'm not by myself (LOL).

When I was in middle school--my parents bought this really old house that was over 100 years old. On both the front porch and back porch there was a pentagram drawn into the cement, which in itself was creepy. This was an old fixer-upper house, which had most of the insulation torn out, a door that trap door that down to the dirt floor basement, and an attic that always had strange noises coming from it. Plus the old wood was coming off in places, the porches were sagging, and the front windows reminded me of eyes. Our first night in the house my sister and I had a mattress set out in an upstairs room, right across from the attic. We were kind of scared, but decided to just go to sleep. In the middle of the night we thought we heard heavy footsteps coming from behind the attic door. The boards were pretty worn and had slots so you could see through into the attic. My sister Rachel and I moved closer together, both too scared to even breathe. A moment later it looked like red eyes were peering out at us so we started screaming. My dad came upstairs and we heard the footsteps retreat further back into the attic, then stop. We told my dad and he said it was probably just a car driving down the road and we saw its tail lights. My sister and I didn't believe this because there wasn't a road that ran on that side of the house.

Well needless to say more stuff continued to happen. For instance after cheerleading practice my parents told me they wanted me to watch my brother and sister so they could go out for a bit. Well I was doing dishes and heard a knock on our side door, which led out to a porch that was lined with windows. I went to the door and peered out and there was no one there, but as I glanced in the windows in front of me, I caught the reflection of someone standing behind me. When I turned around, no one was there. I was so freaked out and remember telling my brother and sister we were all going to sit together in the living room.

Again, I told my parents what'd happened and they still thought I was just imagining stuff. So about three months later my dad and brother went to the store leaving me, my mom, and sister at home. I was downstairs helping my mom with dinner, and my sister was up in her room. All of sudden my mom and I heard a loud thump then my sister screaming and running down the stairs. She said that someone had turned her light off and touched her leg. At first my mom and I thought that she was imagining things or that perhaps the light had burned out. But then we heard the sound of running footsteps and a high pitched laugh. My mom couldn't explain that one away...and after a while her and I ventured upstairs and found that indeed the light switch had been turned off, but there was nothing there.

So here it is 18 years later and I still remember this old house like it was yesterday. We moved like 9 months later...and I swear it still haunts me to think about the stuff that happened. I sometimes wonder if the people that bought it after us had any problems.

I used to live with a ghost. An albino in overalls would carry a paint can down my hall, but never come into my room. Thank God. It was scary!

At night you can hear scraping on the walls downstairs and things walking around outside. The security light has a motion sensor and will turn on in the middle of the night. It scares me everytime. I am always to scared to go downstairs to check if there is anything/anyone outside. pLus, there is a creepy door in the closet of the rooms down there that opens into a dark, dank unfinished room. I try yo peek down from upstairs but can never see anything. i have no clue what is wandering around outside or downstairs in the room. House settling, deer...something else?

I watch that show on A&E called Paranormal State and that show scares the heck out of me everytime. The best way to watch it is in the dark with no lights on at all in the house. Talk about freaky! Thanks for the great giveaway, my daughter would love these books!

When I was a kid there was a house that my friend and I were fascinated with next door to her. It was abandoned for a really long time and we had found a very old newspaper in the backyard. We used to always play around the house and scared each other into thinking something evil was in there and going to catch us. I still think of that house as haunted but it was probably just my imagination working overtime. LOL

Fabulous prizes! I absolutely love YA paranormals and would love to win this!!

When I was about 7 or so, my neighbor said that if we went into the bathroom and turned out the light and looked into the mirror and said "Bloody Mary" 3 times that we would see her in the mirror. I don't know if we ever "saw" her, but it freaked me out enough as a kid that I still have a hard time looking in the bathroom mirror at night when the light is off!

Kristen said...

as the person above me said - I heard of the bloody mary thing when I was little... but I never did it because the idea freaks me out so much. I mean, I don't think anything would happen in a logical sense, but in other senses? Yeah, oto freaked out to try...

Well, I've never seen a ghost...but a friend of mine used to live in this old house that we swearrr was haunted. I think one of the past owner's even committed suicide in one of the rooms. Anyway, i lived there for like a month...so I suppose that's my living in a haunted house story! LOL no experiences though, thank goodness.

As for a scary book...I read this one called Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn that was so creepy...it was scarier b/c of the stuff that younger kids did in the book. Very interesting book and I'm glad I read it though!!

Hi Brooke,

Well not too much spooky around where I live. There is a old graveyard diagonally across the street that has a set of triplets buried in it from the 1800's & I do walk way around it. I didn't know it was there when we bought our house or I wouldn't of. I do not want to live near a graveyard.

The spookiest place I have ever been is New Orleans on their ghost tour. It is just eerie there at night much less when someone is giving you a commentary!!!

Thank you,

I can't stand clowns. They scare the s**t out of me! Make me see a scary movie with a clown in it - and I can't sleep for weeks.

Do I have to tell you that the "haunted ghost house" in our town has a large clown in it which stands infront of a window, staring out? And when you break in to the house and reach the room where the clown is, the clown has turned around and is now FACING YOU! How scary isn't that? I would NEVER, EVER go near that house! NEVER!

There is this old hotel in wyoming that has been turned into offices. It is extremely creepy. The elevator has a mind of its own. It will take you to the ninth floor, when you don't even have a key to get there. Sometimes it will lock you up there for about 30 minutes. What ever is in there also like to keep you lock out of the offices. There was this one time I was there and unlocked one of the offices and all of a sudden the radio turned on and then I went to another office and it wouldn't unlock so I went to turn away and I heard click the door unlock without the key being even close to it. After that crazy night I never did go back in that building. It scared me so bad.

I left my really scary story on your LJ, but we lived in a house in Pennsylvania for a few years that we thought was haunted. We used to hear footsteps upstairs even when we were all on the first floor, and sometimes the television would come on for no reason. I hated staying alone in that house, even though I usually like being by myself.

as a young fan of sherlock holmes and harriet the spy, i developed a penchant for trespassing and sneaking around at an early age. this continued through out my teen years, where my boyfriend and i enjoyed skulking in graveyards. (and yes, the requisite black clothing, black nail polish, and clove cigarettes were included in that cliche package.)

one night, on our way back from a particularly stressful visit to either my relatives' or his, we decided to stop by a forest lawn that we could see from the freeway. (what we always liked best about cemetaries was the quiet. they are always so peaceful, and modern ones are generally well kept with nice grass, which is a rarity in los angeles.)

we parked down the street from the cemetary and walked under the freeway to get to the entrance. it was a warm night and a short, pleasant walk. just as we approached the gap to the gate, an icy coldness wrapped around us! there was no gust of wind, no movement, just a tiny spot of cold air that surrounded both of us. we looked at each other in fear and were scared poopless, but we snuck into the cemetary anyway. we got kicked out by security a couple of hours later.

I don't have any personal stories of ghosts, but I have indeed read an extremely scary graphic novel! It's a Japanese comic call "Dragon Head".

It is absolutely eerie to the bone. A train of kids were going on a trip for school. And suddenly everything blacked out. A couple of kids woke up to the world Armageddon. It was super scary, you should try it. It plays with your mind, even if it is a comic.

There is a haunted house right here in my town on main street. Actually it's my aunt's house. Doors open and close by themselves and you can hear people walking around upstairs when there isn't anyone there. We've even had ghost hunters bring in equipment and get readings. It's pretty freaky. My cousin and his girlfriend spent the night in the attic not to long ago, i guess they didn't see or hear anything ghostly but i still think they were crazy!

My roommate lent me A CERTAIN SLANT OF LIGHT last year and I loved it.

My ghost story may be kind of lame, but it's true. I camped many times with my Girl Scout troop, and one time we slept in a tent and every time we woke up our beds were in different positions. These were old, rusty cots impossible to move without a ton of noise. It was a little freaky but harmless. And all four of us in the tent agreed it happened.

I grew up near Disneyland in CA. When I was little I HATED the haunted house because I thought it was all real. I even had a recurring nightmare that involved the haunted house ghosts invading my home and attacking!

After I saw the shining in 6th grade, it happened again. There is a part on the ride where there is a long hallway with a candleabra floating down it. I always picture a hallway filling with rivers of blood now!

As an adult, I love the ride, but I still cannot look at that hallway!

Oooh! I love ghost stories. I have lots and lots of them. The most haunted place I ever lived was the University of Northern Colorado. It was so haunted that famed ghost hunter Ed and Lorraine Warren came to visit. In one of my dorm rooms we would hear footsteps going between our beds as we tried to sleep, loud knocking IN the wall and one night I found a dead guy's ghostly image hanging from a noose in my bathroom. Seriously! His face was obscured by the dark (I hadn't turned on the bathroom light yet), but I could clearly see his red, plaid flannel workshirt, jeans and heavy work boots swaying above the toilet. Ahhhh!

My Great Grandmother house was spooky. Her husband died in the house when I was a kid. We would always hear footsteps in the hallways and the water would turn on by it self. After she died My family moved into her house and the same things would happen. By this time we were used to it.We also would smell my grandmother's perfume sometimes. It was weird but nothing to scary. I love Ghost stories and would love to win this awesome prize package. Thanks

I have not had any experiences personally, but one evening when my husband was out of town I was watching Ghost Hunters on the Travel Channel, and I was seriously freaked out. I love that show and I love it when they get moans and tapping, and stuff that moves. This was the scariest episode I had ever seen! No one was in the room they were filming from the hallway, and a chair was literally thrown against a wall. I was up all night!

I love watching the original versions of horror/suspense movies like The Omen and Amityville Horror. I don't have any ghost stories, but when I lived in Las Vegas there was one night where it started pouring outside and the wind was howling, which is unusual for the desert obviously and the doorbell ran at 3 am. There was no one there so it could have been a dingdong ditch but I couldn't sleep after that.

Well The first house I ever owned was really nice and i liked it alot but I always got a really uneasy feeling every time i would go into my living room alone. well about 3 weeks after I moved in I woke up in the middle of the night to a the door to my back bedroom closing. I didn't think much of it because i had my AC on but i got up anyway to go get a glass of water. As i walked past the living room i glanced over and saw my rocking chair moving. I got really creeped out and ran back to my room. This happened every night for the next three I started feeling uncomfortable even going to sleep but I didn't let it bother me to much. On the fifth night of this happening I actually walked into the living room. Now the house did happen to be an older house and parts of the floor were creeky so about eight steps into the room one of the floorboards creeked and i stopped. I looked at the rocking chair and my heart almost stopped beating because it looked like there was an old man sitting in the chair giving me a dirty look. I left the house and spent the night at a hotel. The next night it happened again and i decided to stay in bed for fear of what I might find in the living room. I rolled over and closed my eyes. After about ten minutes I started getting a wierd feeling and the hair on the back of my neck staring standing on end i rolled over and looked at my bedroom door and there standing in my doorway was the old man figure from my rocking chair. I got so scared I called my friend and she came over and spent the night with me. the next day I put my house back on the market. A few months after I moved out I was driving by my old neighborhood and decided to drive past my house for old times sake. The house was still for sale and it was around 2 in the morning so I wasn't expecting to see much but as I drove past I swear I saw the figure of the old man standing in the window of what used to be my old bedroom. It scared me so much I never drove past again. (DJLunchlady91404@yahoo.com)

I was washing and combing the tangles out of a long haired wog that cost $80! for my school drama club about 5 years ago in an isolated toilet no less but with a friend.(Please don't ask why in the world did I do that to a wig) Anyway, halfway through that, there was a very, I repeat, Very eerie laughter from behind us and the both of us turn to look at each other (just like in a movie) then spin around to see Nothing! We ran out and stay outside but within sight of the toilet. No one went in. Since we had to get that very expensive wig back, we did this tremendously run and grab action that I have never managed to repeat and dont want to again. The really scary thing was that the tap was turned Off! And we definitely did not think of saving water when we ran out! So...

Anyway, two years later, that particular wig went missing but all its sister wigs (short) were still perfectly fine. What gives?

PS: I will never touch or even glance at a wig again!

Like most colleges, my school (it was Randolph-Macon Woman's College, but they just changed the name, let's not get into that) has a lot of stories about how haunted we are. My favorite is about the clog girl, as we call her, or "the mayonnaise heir" - it's my favorite because it's the one that most scares the bejeezus out of me (what? That's totally logical...)

This was probably thirty or so years ago, and there was this girl - she was really into clogs, and wore them all the time. Even though she was an heir to a huge fortune, her family thought she should work and see what it was like, so she had an off-campus job. She had a really set routine, always going to work and returning at the same time, taking the same path, etc.

Well, about five minutes away from my school is a mental hospital. One man was released, and he spent a lot of time on our campus. Because of that, he always heard the sound of the clog girl, walking to and from work. Eventually, it started driving him crazy... uh, crazier, maybe.

It got to the point where one night, he just couldn't take it anymore; while the girl was walking back from work, he leapt out at her. She started screaming and tried to run, but tripped and fell because of her clogs. The man got to her, and stabbed her, over and over again.

When he realized what he'd done, he dragged her body behind the boilers.

Well, campus starts to realize something is wrong. This always differs about how that happened - but usually what's agreed on is that the clog girl's body is found by someone.

So the administration rang Conway, our bell, and everyone assembled in Main Hall. They were told to go back to their rooms and wait there, and to call an authority figure if their roommate didn't show up.

Lo and behold, the clog girl's roommate calls the administration... They call her down to identify the body, but it's been stabbed so many times, and the body has been melted and disfigured by the boilers, so the only way the girl can identify her roommate is by the clogs.

The guy who murdered the clog girl goes on parole regularly, and alums who were at the school when the girl was murdered always go to make sure he stays in jail... Because the guy has sworn that, if he ever gets out, he'll kill another RandyMac girl.

As if all that weren't enough, campus myth has said that, if you're ever at the area where the girl was killed, and you hear the sounds of clogs, it means you need to get the hell out of there, because she's trying to warn you that something is wrong. I've got friends who say they've heard that... as well as a friend whose mother was here when the clog girl was killed, and refuses to talk about it.

...and I totally shouldn't have done that right before bed. Crap.

Spookiest place i've been is my friends house. They live right next to a cemetary and it's been rumoured to be haunted way before they ever bought it. They say the sometimes they open the door when they're about to leave and when they head back to the door its shut and locked. We've heard voices calling to us saying 'hey' or 'hey, come here'. When you're upstairs you swear you can hear a man arguing with a woman. you think it's the tv but when yuo head downstairs the tvs not on. it's weird and spooky. We always feel like theres a presence around us. I don't know how they can live there still. But some people like that kind of stuff.

I almost forgot to enter the ghost week's contest! ahh. And I've wanted every single one of those books, but just haven't been able to buy them.
My (truthful) ghost story, even though i don't believe in ghosts:

I was sitting in my closet (where my computer is) and my room's door was cracked open and a light shined through it. All of a sudden, the light goes off and the door closes. There, standing right outside of my closet was this man wearing a suit and he had a briefcase in his hand. Then he disappeared. I was so scared to come out of my closet (ha. ha. but its true!) I eventually did, though, and told my family that i had seen a ghost. My step sister screamed "me too!! a couple years ago. did you see a man in a suit with a briefcase?!"
Still don't believe in ghosts, but it has always creeped me out.

I posted a link to your contest here:

Soo... she made me one of those boards (Im not even going to try to spell it because Ill mess it up somehow but it starts with a W and ends with one really scared little girl). Ok so were in my appartment and were playing with it and a 'ghost reaches us from the beyond'. After nikki leaves Im hearing all kinds of weird noises. Our touch lamps (which I later learned just have issues) were turning on and off by themselves. Naturally I flipped out and had to spend the night at my grandmas. A few years later Nikki told me she had been moving the paper. I was pretty mad :-) But whats better is that my mom had a real one and real things actually happened when she was a kid. Cabnet drawers in the kitchen would slam open and closed at random. Its safe to say they never had a babysitter come over more than once :-)

I just finished reading the book Salem's Lot by Stephen King. Talk about scary it kind of makes you wonder if things like that don't really happen!

When I graduated from college, I lived in the basement of a funeral home for 3 months. My first night there was spent strategically placing kitchen knives to use... in case the ghost came in "this" wall or "that" wall. I guess I decided butter knives could be scary if accompanied by a scream. Luckily, the fear only lasted a couple of nights.

While playing the Ouija board with my girlfriend -- who it always worked with -- my cat came into my room and when he saw the planchette moving around beneath our fingers, his eyes got huge, his back arched, and his fur bristled. And he was the sweetest cat! We got all freaked out so we kicked the cat out of the room. :)

In Chicago, the big haunted place to go is Batchelors Grove Cemetary. I've never been, and it is out of the way and patrolled, beause of vandalism, but it sounds really creepy!

All the kids on my block including me were sure the big house on the corner was haunted. Every Halloween they played the spookiest music and had a sign that said Take one and run by the candy. Now that I am older, I have sensed ghosts at a friends house. Never saw anything, but I always get an eerie feeling there. kristie2 (at) comcast.net

I've got an interesting story. I'm not sure if what I was seeing was spirits but I saw something one night that freaked me out more than anything I've ever experienced. And here's the thing... nobody else could see it. This has only happened to me once, and I've never found an explanation for it. One night about 5 years ago I started seeing tendrils of smoke floating around in the air that no one else could see. I don't think it was an eye problem, and I hadn't consumed anything that could alter my vision. It seemed so real, like the smoke that comes off of a candle when you blow it out. Some floated right in front of my face and I almost thought I could touch them. When I stared at a dark area I would see more of the smoke. It terrified me. But by the next morning my vision of the smoke tendrils had mostly faded away, and then it was completely gone. Has anyone experienced anything like this or know what I saw?

My brother is the one with all the stories. He is very sensitive. Once he borrowed my tape recorder and set it out at night. When he woke up he had recorded sounds of footsteps and a door opening then closing. Creepy! We still have the tape.

There is a ghost of a young lady wearing a blood-splattered wedding dress that has been said to have been seen very late at night drifting along the creek in town.

We had some work done in my sons room so we took pictures of the after and there were faces on the wall. In the same house the tv would turn on and off by itself. cabinet doors would open by themselves and one time I heard a mans voice in the house when it was just me there. so many weird things happened some neighbors refused to come over.

A couple of miles away from my house there is a abounded mansion which is all boarded up. There was a story that went around that one day, like 40 years ago, a young boy was walking by himself when he came upon this old house with no one living in it. He was bored. So, he decided he would go in and explore. To get in he took down one of the boards on a window in the back and slid through the open space. He thought no one was watching him but their was an old woman down the road. She deiced to not go after him but keep watch. So, if anything bad happened she would go after him. Though, as the afternoon went on she began to forget about him. She was mad at herself but she decided that he was fine. Who would be in that old dirty house anyway? Though, a couple of days later she saw an article with a picture of that boy and act clue that he was missing. The boy was never seen again.

Even though people don't know if the story is true, they try to never look twice at that house. Whenever I go by it, I remember about the story and get chills done my spine. I would never be dumb enough to go into that house. Even, if someone offer me a trillion dollars the answer would still be no.

I was raisde in my Grandmothers house. We had one room that NO one could sleep in.If you tried to sleep or take a nap you were either shaken or covers off or feet touched. There was a mirroe in there on a old vanity. Sometimes you would see an old man in there. It was frightnig. On the other side of the wall there was a fireplace and a formal parlor. This house is over 100 yrs old . My grandmother finally had a medium come in and she said there was an old man who was afraid that someone would take the money he had hid in the stones of the fireplace. Years went by and noone touched the fireplace. Finally my Nana got too old to care for the big 2 story house and sold it. We kept in touch with the owners. the remodeled the house and found 10,000 in old money hidden in the fireplace.Apparently the old man was not happy and the house changed hands many times until one ight it burndt down. I hope the old man finally RIP

My car does not have a working radio or so I thought. My son was a music fanatic and at 18 he died suddenly. Now frequently my radio will play even when it is turned to the off position. It will play a song my son liked. The radio then will stop working again. While the song is playing I cannot turn it off or adjust the volume.

According to lore in my home town, the County Court House is haunted by a baby who died when she fell out of her mother's arms. Late at night you can hear a baby cry and very small footsteps.

I believe spirts come to use to alert or bring a message .
This just happened and I wonder if my mother in law who passed in 1988 came to let my daughter know she is keeping an eye on her.
My daughter goes to a large college and works for the school part time. Working for the biology dept,Sarah was in a classroom and cleaning some test tubes. She scanned the room and noticed something on one of the desks. She went over and saw it was a picture, thinking someone dropped it ,she looked at it and was going to put it on the instructors desk. She stopped in her tracks!!
It was a picture of her grandmother, she was in shock at first.Sarah has never met her grandmother and only knows her through pictures. She called me right away, describing the picture, she knew but was not sure.
I thought it was so strange because its a large college, why and how in the world did Sarah come across this picture of her grandmother who passed away 1 month before she was born.
It was a picture of her grandmother and I told Sarah she is letting you know she is watching over you and this was the only way she could let you know.

Okay, so I already left the story of my sister's Ouija board on your Myspace blog, but I didn't tell you about the time I saw a ghost in my basement.

Okay, so, no one really knows who owned the house before we did because it and the house next to it were constructed by twin brothers...but ours got remodeled and then sold. Anyway, if you go downstairs to where my toy room from when I was little is and put your hand on the cement wall in between it and another room, it's always ice cold and my mom said there isn't anything behind the wall to do that. It's the only wall that's constantly cold down there. So, one day, back when I was 12, me and my friend Bre went downstairs to the computer room and we were being silly and playing games on the computer. I decided I wanted to freak her out and I told her about the wall always being cold and I how I thought someone must be buried in the wall. She didn't believe me so I took her back there and stuck her hand on the wall. It sufficiently freaked her out and we went back to play on the computer, quietly.
While we were playing, we kept getting chills and at the same time, she and I looked at each other real quick with scared expressions on our faces because we had both looked over to the hallway that leads to the cold wall out of our peripheral vision and saw a white mass floating about 2 feet off the ground. We bolted up the stairs and stayed outside the rest of the day. To this day, she refuses to set foot in my basement and I refuse to go any further than the doorway to the hall that leads to the wall and we're both 20 now. Lol.

I don't really have any great ghost stories. There is this one though.

When I was 10 (I think) I was at my grandma's house for some family get together and everyone was outside. I ran in to use the bathroom and I as I was on my way back outside I sensed something behind me. I turned around and didn't see a think. But as soon as I was facing the other way again I felt the same thing again. This time when I turned around I saw the faintest white whisp of something turning the corner. Part of me wanted to run after it but the other part of me just stood there frozen. Finally when I didn't see it again I turned around and got out of there fast. I wasn't a big fan of my grandma's house after that. I was always afraid a ghost was following me or something. I don't even think anyone ever died in that house either so the whole thing was extra creepy.

Sad story. Her name is Cynthia Hellman. I've done lots of research on her story ever since my friend and i saw her apparition dissapear midstride while walking up the sidewalk on Norfolk Avenue. She wasn't 10 feet from us when she vanished into thin air. It was quite an amazing experience! I'm not aware of stabbing, though. Apparently she died from trauma to the head. A security guard found her face first on a steam pipe outside of the science building.
After i saw her apparition, i wrote a local paranormal group who told me the girl i described matc
hed the description of her, and what she was wearing that night(i did not see clogs).
